Blanqi Underbust Support Tank: Three Ways: Look 1

Gaelyn • Leave a Comment

You guys may have seen me raving about my Blanqi underbust support tank here and/or on social media. I was always curious about the Blanqi tanks but I was unsure about the $70 price tag. Well, this time around after doing some research and reading a  lot of reviews I decided to invest- and I couldn’t have made a better choice. It’s been an everyday staple in my maternity wardrobe with this pregnancy.

So when Blanqi asked if I would be interested in doing a few Three Ways style features for them and some of their products, I don’t think I could have said “YES!”any faster. The first three looks will star my tried and true favorite underbust tank in Winter White.

Here is why I love it:

It allows me to wear non maternity jeans.
As a petite lady, I was never able to make a belly band work. Sure they would cover the fact that my pants were unbuttoned or unzipped but they did absolutely nothing to keep my pants up! I’m 29 weeks at this point and thanks to the Blanqi tank, I only recently had to break out some of my maternity jeans. This gives me so much more flexibility with my wardrobe and best of all keeps me feeling like my sassy self, not a frumpy pregnant lady.

It offers support
Forget weird support wraps and the achey back. Some how or another this tank helps keep things where they should be and offers magical back and belly support throughout the day.

It smooths everything out
I will keep any lumps and bumps at bay and in my case keep that pesky protruding belly button from making an obvious appearance.

Here is my first look for the white Blanqi underbust suport tank
A simple, casual, easy, comfortable weekend look. Perfect for chasing my active toddler around.

30 Weeks- Birkin Bump

Gaelyn • 2 Comments

I’m trying my best to channel a pregnant 1970’s Jane Birkin today. I’m also giving these heels a jaunt while I still can! Before heels are no longer an option.

You guys know I’m all about budget deals and that’s especially true for me when pregnant. So, while this dress has a Madewell vibe, it’s actually Forever 21. And these clog heels? Target. Score. Also, these shoes are surprisingly comfy! And this dress can totally be worn post baby!

Don’t worry, I’m totally wearing shorts under this tiny dress! Even if I’m at the office all day, I’m still a mom with a toddler and it’s a pretty short dress, so- better safe than sorry right?

30 weeks – spring has sprung

Gaelyn • Leave a Comment

Sorry things have been a little slow over here lately. Moving and a crazy work schedule have got me pretty preoccupied. I have some fun collaborations that I cant wait to share with you, but as those sorts of things go, I can’t share until they do so- hang tight. I’m calling today’s look “spring has sprung” as if the ice just finally melted. Let’s be real, I live in Los Angeles, we essentially have two seasons. We have summer for 3/4 of the year and Fall for 1/4. But this outfit seemed like it had a pretty good spring vibe that I’m hoping will inspire some of you in not as warm climates!

Pregnancy Status: 30 weeks

For those of you that follow me on social media, you may recall that I ate my words on the “birken-stop” hate train I was on and I recently bought a pair of Target fauxkinstocks. What I loved about the target ones was the color, they looked much more like Salwater Sandals than Birks. I am clearly fickle so I wasn’t ready to commit to the price of real Birkenstocks. But after only a week with the fauxkinstocks, I caved and bought real Birkenstocks. Again swayed by a new color that felt much more modern and less hippy- but also highly swayed by pregnancy. I have gotten to a place in my pregnancy where my feet feel bruised and achy if I have been on them too long. Walking around our house’s hard wood floors barefoot is a serious no-no that I WILL pay for later. I’ve never been too much for tennies to begin with so I didn’t want to have to rely on wearing my Nike’s everyday in order to get the arch support my poor pregnant feet were craving. So after trying a friends pair of real Birkenstocks (thanks Elizabeth!) I finally coughed up the money and got a real pair. I realize I’m a jerk. But you already knew that by now, right?

Hat: Urban Outfitters

Sunnies: Forever 21

Maternity Chambray: Top Shop

Striped Maternity Tank: Old Navy

Jeans: J.crew. These are not maternity, the secret is my Blanqi support tank that works 500 million times better than a belly band, so even at 30 weeks I can still wear non maternity.

Sandals: Birkenstocks from Nordstrom (for those of you interested in the faux target ones, I got these and currently clothes/shoes/accesories are buy one get one half off)

28 Weeks- Peter Pan Collar

Gaelyn • Leave a Comment

Ive officially had to break out some of my maternity jeans.  This baby belly is getting larger and buttons and such are just no longer my friends. Luckily I still have a few pairs of forgiving or stretchy non maternity pants that I can rotate in (for a little while longer at least). But today was about comfort, so maternity jeans and a flowy top suited my mood. I found this ….dress? ….at Forever 21 that works great as a pregnancy tunic. I could even still wear it with little shorts for more of a dress-look as things warm up, at least until belly fully takes over and decides this thing is a crop top haha. I accentuated the simple peter pan collar with a J.Crew statement necklace. It’s an easy and put together look that most of all is absolutely still comfortable!

My Corner View - 27 weeks with baby 2

Still not sure I’ve really wrapped my head around the fact that I will be a mother of two soon. As an only child myself, it’s a bit of a foreign concept. I knew I always wanted children and always hoped I would have multiple – but that idea coming to fruition is still not fully realized. But I feel so grateful that we will soon have two. I know that even after this bean is born, it will still take time to get comfortable with and I know that the moments of gratefulness will be interspersed with moments of total F-ing chaos but we’re okay with that. And we’ve already learned that the gratefulness always outweighs the chaos and even in the chaos you have to find the time to be grateful. As a mother, my mind is forever busy and my heart is forever full.

Maternity Shoot: Part One

Gaelyn • Leave a Comment

John and I had the pleasure of being photographed by Ana do Amaral on a super fun maternity shoot. By the time we got around to doing the shoot I was 37 weeks pregnant. I thought that I might regret not having it done earlier in the pregnancy, when I wasn’t so big and I had more options on what clothes fit me. But I ended up feeling great and in retrospect, I love knowing that one week after these photos were taken Oliver was born! So they are really precious & I couldn’t be happier about them! Thank you Ana, they are beautiful.

I will break them out into several posts. Here is the first:

Outfit Of The Day: The Gaslight Anthem

Gaelyn • 1 Comment

Rockin’ more men’s tee shirts today. Still have to buy my own (i.e. cant borrow any from the hubs). I spotted someone on instagram wearing this one and had to get it. I love The Gaslight Anthem plus it had an anchor on it, how could I not?! Still feeling super comfy and easy today but the headscarf and lipstick helps me feel accessorized and pulled together.

I got told (AGAIN?!) that I looked like Popeye today. Apparently I’m channeling a bald buff old sailor. Get into it.

Outfit Of The Day: Coral Fedora

Gaelyn • Leave a Comment

This might be one of my favorite late in the game maternity dresses. In other words, when not much fits, or makes you feel great, I feel like this dress delivers. And double bonus, its super comfy.  I wore it for my LA baby shower and also for my recent maternity shoot. Also I love coral. It’s one of my favorite colors for spring/summer. It’s bright and happy and it really pops against tanned summer skin.
