Outfit Of The Day
Outfit Of The Day: Sunday
This weekend we had a bit of a spontaneous adventure. Turns out that the Unique LA event was happening. Its a market of made in the USA, local vendors. Everything from clothes, to jewelry to prints and more. I had no idea it was happening but luckily one of the children’s brands I follow on instagram (Tiny Whales) posted about it on Saturday. We headed over early Sunday and door-busted the place, which turned out to be a good idea because it was much calmer and more relaxing with far less people. We bought a ton of cool stuff and had a lot of fun, even ran into a few friends. Later we popped on over to a few favorite shops in the arts district where John offered to snap a few outfit pictures. How nice of him hehe. So here is what I wore:
Outfit Of The Day: Leopard Love
I’m kind of madly in love with several of these pieces.
First off, THANK YOU to my husband for this amazing Brixton hat. I was oogelying over it at Nordstrom and joked that I might need it for our upcoming family photos and he surprised me with it. Yeah, he rules like that.
Then, while Christmas browsing I happened to see this sweater at Ross. Christmas shopping is trouble. It was only $16. What’s not to love, right?
•Its Burgundy (a favorite fall color- as you can tell from my matching lips and nails)
•Its Leopard
•The leopard has hearts hidden in the pattern
• It has an awesome graduated shape
• And it has studs
All of which are amazing in my book.
Oh and these chocolate brown booties? oh, they cost me $23.
who knows what I’m pointing at. Probably just being bossy.
Hat: Brixton Diego Fedora $75 (This hat is considered charcoal, but clearly they are coo coo cuz it looks pretty green to me)
Sweater: Dex (Via Ross $16)
Jeans: Levis
Booties: Nicole (Via Ross $23)
Lipstick: Makeup Forever – Rouge Artist Intense #48
Outfit Of The Day: Timex
Outfit Of The Day: Layers
WOOOOOOOOO I’m back! In case you didn’t hear or know why I was MIA, my blog basically took a poop. John has been helping me rebuild it. At first I thought I was giong to be unable to recover all of my old posts. Luckily, he was able to recover them, but it means a couple things: 1. All of your sweet comments are gone (booo). 2. None of your pinterest links will work anymore. 3. I have to re-input all of the posts manually (which is time consuming). I’m currently still in the process of re-entering past blog posts and tweaking the new site. So its all still in progress, but I’m happy to be back and sooo happy that John was able to recover what he could and help me re-build!
Today I’m rocking layers as I participated in the Coast to Coast outfit challenge- and I’m jumping for joy at the return of my site!
Outfit Of The Day
Wednesday was our wedding anniversary. We celebrated 3 years wed and 12 years together! Ya, thats right, twelve years! John has been working like a dog lately and so we wanted to make sure we had some time together at least for dinner ( I also made us a fancy breakfast with a cute little “3″ pancake topper) But we also knew we would have the baby in tow, so I kept it pretty casual.
We ended up going to Farm Shop and following it up with Sweet Rose Creamery and it was really nice to have a quiet little family evening and finally get some quality time in together.
It also happened to be our first fall like day and it even involved rain! So i was eager to bust out my new boots. If you recall I had a pair of brown Steve Madden boots that I wore to death and could never find a pair i liked more to replace them, well I finally found my new pair!
PS if you dont follow me on instagram (and you should!) you may just now be noticing I DID go ahead and chop my hair off!. Like I said, it rained, so its a bit wild and large and in charge but you get the ideas. It ended up being a little shorter than I had imagined but its growing on me and its definitely working well with my low maintenance natural curls and feels a million times healthier.
Boots: Bloomindales $295 (because I think real leather boots are worth the investment and last forever)
Shirt: Madewell Penfield Flannel $80 (a classic)
Tights: J.Crew
Skirt: H&M
Lipstick: MAC Satin Red

I have to admit that wearing this outfit made me feel like Stella Got Her Groove Back. Okay, actually, while I am admitting things- I don’t remember that movie- I’m not even sure if I ever saw it. But you get the point. I felt pretty good, which is nice.
Although, we did end up going to the hardware store and I felt a little….overdressed? This weekend we start building a deck in our backyard! We are renters so you may think it’s weird that we are building a deck but we have always invested in rentals because improving them makes living there all the more enjoyable for us! This time we lucked out because not only was our landlord okay with us building a deck, it turns out she has always wanted one, so she is paying for the supplies! If you know anything about our house, you know it is teeny tiny. We don’t have a dining room or much room to entertain so we are hoping that the deck and a little overhang will help expand our living space!
