You’ll have to bare with me as I attempt to regulate my outfit posts. The truth is we rarely know what day it is around here and some days are cuter than others haha. Also, papa has to be the new photographer and he’s still workin’ out a few kinks in the system.
This tank actually has a cool “native” pattern (for lack of a better word) in tiny white matte sequins down the front- but it was tough to get a decent picture.
Outfit
Mama
Tank: H&M $10 (this is one of the other tops that I purchased on clearance in a larger size, specifically for this post pregnancy transition phase). Also as a side note- I’m relying pretty heavily on layering a spaghetti strap tank underneath whatever top I’m wearing because it makes life easier when breastfeeding.
Jeans: Old Navy Maternity $35- maternity pants are actually real handy when you are no longer pregnant but no longer your pre-pregnancy size. Plus, no one can tell the difference!
Shoes: Converse $45
Oliver
Stripe Onesie: Target
Baby Sweat Pants: Polarn O. Pyret
Socks: Old Navy
Anchor Beanie: Baby Gap
Papa
Shirt: J.Crew
Jeans: Levis 501′s
Beanie: Carhartt
Shoes: Vans

John and I had the pleasure of being photographed by Ana do Amaral on a super fun maternity shoot. By the time we got around to doing the shoot I was 37 weeks pregnant. I thought that I might regret not having it done earlier in the pregnancy, when I wasn’t so big and I had more options on what clothes fit me. But I ended up feeling great and in retrospect, I love knowing that one week after these photos were taken Oliver was born! So they are really precious & I couldn’t be happier about them! Thank you Ana, they are beautiful.
I will break them out into several posts. Here is the first:

We are starting to get back on the horse, little by little. We have been out and about lately, just to try things out and get out there. We have been running errands, grabbing coffee etc. It’s just nice to get out of the house and also to challenge ourselves to figure this all out. How do we work around the babies schedule? Where do we stop to change the baby? Or drop everything and have a breastfeeding session?
My wardrobe is still in a weird transitional place. I’m definitely not able to fit into my pre-pregnancy size zero pants, that’s for sure!! And since I literally just had a baby eleven days ago (!) I still have a little bit of a tummy that I’m not keen on showcasing. So I picked up a few over-sized tops like this awesome neon embroidered top from H&M. During my pregnancy, I purchased a few bottoms that were not maternity items, but rather just several sizes larger than my pre-pregnancy size. These items are proving to be quiet helpful during this transition period (like these shorts), but I have also still been wearing some of maternity pants as well. Another bonus is that now that my swelling has subsided, I can wear these sandals again! Also, two things: 1. The swelling got worse before it got better (just for a few days). Can you even imagine it worse than it was?! 2. I still haven’t really tried many of my shoes on and don’t know yet if my feet have changed sizes for the long run. I also think I am still a little bit swollen, so we will see.
Papa got in on the action today hehe
Today was a new mama success in that I showered, washed my hair, CURLED my hair AND repainted my toenails! Boom!
Oliver didn’t really have his “fashion face” on today. He’s like “whatever guys…I’m napping”
Check it out guys, I made a baby. And hes adorable!

Here’s a little look at our baby boy in those very first moments.
After a long 18 hour labor (it really wasn’t as bad as it sounds, after the epidural there was lot of waiting: for contractions to regulate, to dilate, and for the baby to get into the right position) we finally meet
We were shocked to find that baby boy looks alot like mama, including a dark head of hair. Although, John’s baby sister was born with a dark head of hair that later turned blonde, so we will have to wait and see. And while his eyes look dark in this photo they are still gray (more wait and see).
Here he is looking itty bitty in his Papa’s arms. I love seeing my husband as a father!!
Finally discharged from the hospital Oliver is dressed and ready to meet the world!
My brain is too tired to tell you all about how amazing it feels to be a mother. But let me simply say we are elated and we feel complete we have never been so over the moon about anything.
