Photos From Our Birth

Gaelyn • Leave a Comment

When I grabbed the camera to offload Oliver’s outfit photos from yesterday I realized there were photos on the camera from our time at the hospital.

I thought this one in particular was pretty amazing.

1

My birth process was long. It wasn’t that it was all that difficult or painful. But it was a long process (about 17 hours or so) that involved a lot of waiting and it left us pretty tired. This is fairly early on in our stay before contractions got super strong and clearly spirits are still high. I love how absolutely blissed out I look. I don’t think I have ever seen a photo of myself where I look happier- and honestly, I never have been happier. The genuine joy all over my face is pretty amazing. I did a pretty impressive job of documenting my pregnancy, taking photos nearly everyday, but this one is by far my favorite.

I picked out a few other photos that I thought were really nice and I figured I would share them. Here is a small glimpse into the best day of our life.

2

Post epidural, munching on some ice chips…so sad. I was so thirsty and so hungry. I had my mother in law pick us up burritos that we inhaled after all was said and done. Of course I did. If I could have a last meal, my guess is- it would be a burrito. Any time we go on vacation etc my first meal back home is a burrito. God forbid I ever have to live in a state or country where they just don’t get burritos. haha.3

Starting to look a little tired, but still happy.

Look at the way he looks down on his son, so proud and so in love. Such a precious first moment.9Proud PaPa running the phones, keeping everyone updated and letting them know our little bundle of joy had arrive.

What Ollie Wore

Gaelyn • Leave a Comment

Initially I took these photos because trying to photograph Oliver in my daily outfit photos is challenging when he is a sleepy newborn who doesn’t yet have control of his neck haha. Turns out these photos are really frickin adorable and fun. I might try to do more Ollie outfit photos like this.

Outfit Of The Day: Nursing Perfection

Gaelyn • Leave a Comment

I’m still figuring out my post pregnancy wardrobe. In part because I am a weird size, in part because I am still trying to disguise my little belly and in part because I am nursing. This outfit, it turns out is nursing perfection. I’m simply wearing this loose cotton top over my comfy cotton Target nursing bra. The wide neckline of this top gives me easy access to nurse without having to pull a shirt up or unbutton or anything.

Outfit Of The Day: Stripes

I woke up and had my heart set on having a Starbucks soy chai latte. John always teased me for liking these and would say it tasted like “liquid cake”. But since I cut out caffeine during the pregnancy, it had been nearly a year since I had one and it sounded like a nice treat. Turns out that after a year apart – John was right, it tastes like liquid cake. Haha! It was super sweet! Oh well, we enjoyed our walk anyway!

Outfit Of The Day: Feeding Frenzy

Gaelyn • Leave a Comment

Oliver is going through a growth spurt right now and literally eating around the clock. I haven’t been able to get out much or do much based on the fact that the kid is always eating! Today was no exception really, but since I didn’t really leave my yoga pants yesterday, I felt like getting ready for the day anyhow. Even if all we did was go to our office to finish some wedding work and do some blogging.

It was really bright out so my top looks weirdly iridescent but its just coral. Strangely enough my shoes ARE kind of iridescent natural/gold but you can’t tell haha.

Coral blouse: Old Navy $10

Jeans: Old Navy Maternity (yep, still wearing those) $39

Shoes: Fake Tom’s via CVS $12.99!!!

Earrings: Kate Spade $45

You can barely see itty bitty Ollie here but his adorable yellow leggings are from Little Hip Squeaks ($36)
