Apparently channeling the Botticelli painting of Venus here…?
Loving this comfy cotton moto jacket I grabbed at TJ Maxx for $16!
Jeans: Old Navy

Mindbogglingly we are nearly halfway through this second pregnancy already! The fact that we didn’t have ultrasound confirmation till almost 15 weeks makes it all the crazier. I sort of had to put the whole pregnancy at the back of my mind and not think too much about (for fear of thinking negative thoughts until I had positive affirmations from doctors) and so now that I am able to embrace being pregnant and make it public, it’s almost as if its all new to me as well! I’m really just starting to wrap my head around the fact that I’m pregnant! Baby is big enough now that strangers feel confident asking about him- they are no longer unsure if maybe I just had one too many holiday cookies- which is making it all the more real suddenly! Yay for baby bumps!

Excited about this dress by NOM from Belly Dance Maternity because it’s also made for nursing and I cant tell you how much I missed dresses when I was nursing Oliver so I’m hoping to get a lot of use out of it! If you are pregnant I highly suggest you check out that link because they are having an insane sale right now!
Although it’s shape didn’t photograph well, I love the fun flirty nature of this loose peplum top with a peek a boo back contrasted with the edgier moto boots and PLM beanie. A bold statement lip color really ties it together and I love a deep darker red for fall. In other news, I’m happy to announce that the weather has finally started to turn here in LA. And by turn I mean it’s in the 60s instead of the 80’s and I actually need a flannel and a beanie. I know it’s hardly a fall season to those of you in the middle of this years first snow storm but we’re pretty excited about it around here!!
Well itâs still a sweltering nearly 80 degrees here in Los Angeles. So while everyone in my Instagram feed continues to talk about rain and frost and pumpkin spice xyz, hot cocoa and âsweater weatherâ â this beanie is my only hope for even pretending itâs fall here. Itâs great for those of us that want to dress for fall but we donât have the fall weather. I will continue to pair it with dresses and pray for rain, or fog or even a breeze. As a California native, I have never truly experienced seasons the way many of you have. With row after row of golden trees, weeks of rain and then snow. But growing up in Northern Cailfornia at least we had fog, and frost and it got pretty darn cold. This last year for us here in Southern California has seen one too many record temperature highs and we are in the worst drought in our history. Donât get me wrong, 70% of the time, I love our weather, but right now Iâm ready to start feeling like the holidays are right around the corner, not summer break. So drink a cocoa in my honor and pray for rain, when it comes, Iâll be ready in my Protector Lover Mother beanie.
