Loving this look! I can say that right? Is that tooting my own horn? I love that its comfy and cute and best yet, I feel like myself.

Also! The best part might be these jeans. Tip for all you “maternity” hating mamas out there. I highly recommend you look into Target’s selection of “jeggings” (jean leggings). I have a pair with moto knees that I got last fall/winter that are insanely stretchy and  comfy. I recently picked up this ripped pair. They seemed to have changed the format a little bit, the new line is more of a genuine jean (less soft) but still stretchy! This pair is buttoned guys. My pants are buttoned and I’m nearly 35 weeks pregnant. Also – they are rad. They don’t have the “maternity” price tag. And I intend to wear them post baby. What more could you ask for? Run, don’t walk your ass to Target.

Speaking of things to be worn pregnant as well as post pregnant: this top. So comfy and roomy. Perfect for after baby when you still have the tummy weight. Layer a tank under it and its great for nursing. Bam.

Links at end of post.

Invest in a dress

Gaelyn • 2 Comments

It’s my opinion that every pregnancy wardrobe should include a versatile little black dress. You can dress it up or down and wear it a million different ways and no one will be the wiser. When pregnant with Oliver I had one from Target. I wore it to weddings, I wore it with a leather jacket, I wore it with boots and leggings in the fall etc etc. What you spend is not important, but I will say if you want to invest in a piece that you can wear again and again, the little black dress is it.

My Corner View 34 weeks

This time around I’m kind of obsessed with this dress from Chloe Rose Maternity. And to make it doubly worth its value- I can continue to wear it post partum and use it as a nursing dress! I can not tell you how much I missed dresses while nursing. Both my babes are summer born and yet I found very few dresses that were nursing friendly. Not only is this particular Ingrid&Isabele dress functional and versatile, but it is comfy as all get out! Seriously the fabric is a dream. It’s silky soft and stretchy.

Blanqi Underbust Support Tank: Three Ways: Look 3

Gaelyn • Leave a Comment

My Corner View

You guys may have seen me raving about my Blanqi underbust support tank here and/or on social media. I was always curious about the Blanqi tanks but I was unsure about the $70 price tag. Well, this time around after doing some research and reading a  lot of reviews I decided to invest- and I couldn’t have made a better choice. It’s been an everyday staple in my maternity wardrobe with this pregnancy.

So when Blanqi asked if I would be interested in doing a few Three Ways style features for them and some of their products, I don’t think I could have said “YES!”any faster. The first three looks will star my tried and true favorite underbust tank in Winter White.

Here is why I love it:

It allows me to wear non maternity jeans.
As a petite lady, I was never able to make a belly band work. Sure they would cover the fact that my pants were unbuttoned or unzipped but they did absolutely nothing to keep my pants up! I’m 29 weeks at this point and thanks to the Blanqi tank, I only recently had to break out some of my maternity jeans. This gives me so much more flexibility with my wardrobe and best of all keeps me feeling like my sassy self, not a frumpy pregnant lady.

It offers support
Forget weird support wraps and the achey back. Some how or another this tank helps keep things where they should be and offers magical back and belly support throughout the day.

It smooths everything out
I will keep any lumps and bumps at bay and in my case keep that pesky protruding belly button from making an obvious appearance.

And here is my third look- An office appropriate look

Canadian Tuxedos and Paletas

Here’s some photos I forgot to share from a couple weeks ago of me standing around awkwardly with a paleta. Enjoy?

John stopped by my office to visit me for lunch and I took him to my favorite local paleta spot, he was pretty pissed that I had never taken him there before. But all was forgiven with frozen goodness.

Slow down.

I’m busy. I’m always busy. Lately my mind has been busy too. Usually this isn’t the case for me. I’m never one to lay awake at night with my mind wandering  (which is a blessing)  but at the same time I’m never one to take the time to really stop and reflect. I think that often times worriers reflect and reflectors worry. My usual mind set is to live in the moment. Things happen and things get done and I just keep chugging along. Maybe its motherhood and pregnancy hormones…okay, I can almost guarantee that’s what it is…but lately I’m just feeling….busy. I’m longing for an idealistic day where we all wake slowly and savor every minor detail of the day, where we lock eyes often and eat slowly in the sun. But if I’m honest, those moments are rare. And even on weekends when we have slow dreamy sun filled days, there are still moments of rushing and busy work. There are moments when toddlers whine as I rush to make lunch. There are loads of laundry to be done. And things to put away or do before I forget, because with pregnancy brain, I am sure to forget. And most days are full of routine and rushing out the door on time for daycare/work.

My Corner View

But I’m trying to find the small moments here and there that I can momentarily pause. Short moments to savor. Moments spent alone with Oliver, because soon they will be rare, as his only child days are numbered. I’ve taken to keeping the radio off in the car until after I drop Oliver off at daycare. So that I can spend the 10-15 minute drive listening to him practicing his words and engaging him in conversation. Finding moments to stop and savor the feeling of baby turns and kicks inside my belly. Because who knows if my belly will ever hold tiny baby turns and kicks again. To acknowledge the blessing of having tiny baby clothes to wash and fold and organize. To bump my pregnant belly against my husbands for a quick hug and laugh in the kitchen while we think about how cool it is that our son can play alone in his room while we sneak a quick kiss in the kitchen. And today I’ve decided to take a little moment for myself, to go home to a quiet empty house for lunch and try to do a little nesting/organizing. Not only taking a rare little moment of quiet time but knowing that in doing so I can slow down and focus on family when I come home from work tonight.

30 Weeks- Birkin Bump

Gaelyn • 2 Comments

I’m trying my best to channel a pregnant 1970’s Jane Birkin today. I’m also giving these heels a jaunt while I still can! Before heels are no longer an option.

You guys know I’m all about budget deals and that’s especially true for me when pregnant. So, while this dress has a Madewell vibe, it’s actually Forever 21. And these clog heels? Target. Score. Also, these shoes are surprisingly comfy! And this dress can totally be worn post baby!

Don’t worry, I’m totally wearing shorts under this tiny dress! Even if I’m at the office all day, I’m still a mom with a toddler and it’s a pretty short dress, so- better safe than sorry right?

30 weeks – spring has sprung

Gaelyn • Leave a Comment

Sorry things have been a little slow over here lately. Moving and a crazy work schedule have got me pretty preoccupied. I have some fun collaborations that I cant wait to share with you, but as those sorts of things go, I can’t share until they do so- hang tight. I’m calling today’s look “spring has sprung” as if the ice just finally melted. Let’s be real, I live in Los Angeles, we essentially have two seasons. We have summer for 3/4 of the year and Fall for 1/4. But this outfit seemed like it had a pretty good spring vibe that I’m hoping will inspire some of you in not as warm climates!

Pregnancy Status: 30 weeks

For those of you that follow me on social media, you may recall that I ate my words on the “birken-stop” hate train I was on and I recently bought a pair of Target fauxkinstocks. What I loved about the target ones was the color, they looked much more like Salwater Sandals than Birks. I am clearly fickle so I wasn’t ready to commit to the price of real Birkenstocks. But after only a week with the fauxkinstocks, I caved and bought real Birkenstocks. Again swayed by a new color that felt much more modern and less hippy- but also highly swayed by pregnancy. I have gotten to a place in my pregnancy where my feet feel bruised and achy if I have been on them too long. Walking around our house’s hard wood floors barefoot is a serious no-no that I WILL pay for later. I’ve never been too much for tennies to begin with so I didn’t want to have to rely on wearing my Nike’s everyday in order to get the arch support my poor pregnant feet were craving. So after trying a friends pair of real Birkenstocks (thanks Elizabeth!) I finally coughed up the money and got a real pair. I realize I’m a jerk. But you already knew that by now, right?

Hat: Urban Outfitters

Sunnies: Forever 21

Maternity Chambray: Top Shop

Striped Maternity Tank: Old Navy

Jeans: J.crew. These are not maternity, the secret is my Blanqi support tank that works 500 million times better than a belly band, so even at 30 weeks I can still wear non maternity.

Sandals: Birkenstocks from Nordstrom (for those of you interested in the faux target ones, I got these and currently clothes/shoes/accesories are buy one get one half off)

28 Weeks- Peter Pan Collar

Gaelyn • Leave a Comment

Ive officially had to break out some of my maternity jeans.  This baby belly is getting larger and buttons and such are just no longer my friends. Luckily I still have a few pairs of forgiving or stretchy non maternity pants that I can rotate in (for a little while longer at least). But today was about comfort, so maternity jeans and a flowy top suited my mood. I found this ….dress? ….at Forever 21 that works great as a pregnancy tunic. I could even still wear it with little shorts for more of a dress-look as things warm up, at least until belly fully takes over and decides this thing is a crop top haha. I accentuated the simple peter pan collar with a J.Crew statement necklace. It’s an easy and put together look that most of all is absolutely still comfortable!
